yeh - I agree with Shopguru. I sometimes import the dvd into my macbook pro and then use quicktime to export it onto my ipod.

I also don't like portable dvd players, but if you spend hours in a plane or train and don't have nothing more interresting/useful to do, it may be a good toy.
